Co-locating allows you to make considerable savings compared
to hosting a server at your site. Even if you do have dedicated access, a co-located
server will give you much improved response times because it is directly connected
through an international network. This provides superb high capacity, resilient
Internet connectivity for your server. We operate hardware redundancy and have
high capacity links to all major backbones to ensure fast access times to key
international networks. Basing our operations in Tele City London and Harbour
Exchange gives us unrivalled protection from power failure, terrorist attack,
theft or flooding and so further increases reliability. Our clients trust us
to deliver the highest performance connectivity 24 hours a day. rack space,

As your requirements for online hosting increase it becomes increasingly difficult
to achieve everything on a shared server platform. The next step is to seize
control of your own destiny and build a server specifically designed to meet
your requirements.
By choosing TridentNet Colocation you are free from file size constraints, operating system restrictions, database format and web server type. Not only web hosting but DNS services, Lotus Notes, off-site data archiving and warehousing are just some of the services now available to you.
Our colocation suites provide the secure, well-connected, fully managed air-conditioned
environment with physical rack space, 100BaseT switched Ethernet connection,
IP address and dual-redundant mains power. You provide the server platform of
your choice configured to meet your particular needs. Just select from the wide

Server Colocation is where you place your own server in our data centre in Telehouse.
We provide everything you need to ensure a fast and reliable connection to the
internet. See our network speeds measured in the independant tests.
There are a number of reasons why companies make the leap from shared hosting to colocating their own servers :
A large number of sites to host
Custom software that is not permitted on shared servers
The requirement of utmost security of data.
You provide the server, we provide everything else - rackspace, connection to
the Internet, IP addresses, switchable power supply, backups, primary and secondary
DNS, email; quite simply anything that is needed. It is your responsibility
to run the server, alternatively if you require a managed service please see
our section on dedicated servers.
We house all our servers in one location in the UK alone : Telehouse, Docklands.
This is the premium location for performance, reliability and security. All of the top 20 companies participating in the webperf tests have their premium network here.
What is Colocation?
Colocation is the placement of a computer or network equipment in an external data centre. Management of the computer or network equipment remains the responsibility of the owner of the computer or the equipment. An Internet Service Provider (ISP) generally provides access to the computer or the equipment. Reliability and performance of the network is the ISP’s responsibility.
Why Colocate?
The main reason for colocation is to achieve ‘peace of mind’. ‘Peace of mind’ is achieved through:
Security
Computers and network equipment are located in racks housed in data centres
which are guarded buildings manned 24 hours a day. The racks themselves are
locked and only ‘allowed’ personnel are given access.
Cost Savings
The cost of installing a single high bandwidth line is far higher than the costs
of locating a server in a Data Centre.
Reliability
The network to a Data Centre contains ‘redundant routes’; this means
that a computer or piece of network equipment has more than one link to the
Internet. Should a single link be broken access to the computer or network equipment
remains intact. Due to the high cost of installing a high bandwidth line typically
equipment or a computer housed at the premises of an organisation has only a
single link and should this link fail for whatever reason connection to the
Internet is lost.
All racks have power redundancy, should there be fluctuations in power supply the computer or equipment remains functioning.
